hello again! this month has been a really crazy month and i’ve been so busy! to start off with, whilst my project for the 5 minute film didn’t get selected, i am working with an incredible team on another film called “Need a hand?”. the film is about a hand that helps a young couple come to terms with being pregnant and having a baby. in the film i’m getting the opportunity to be in charge of the sound! i’m doing both the recording of the sound on set and also the sfx and foley sound in post-production too. over the last month i’ve been trying to plan out what sound i want where etc as well as working with Archie Benton (go check him out, he’s incredible) the composer working on our film. i’ve given him loads of inspiration for different pieces of music from Charli xcx, Chappell Roan and Billie Eilish to Metallica and Bring Me The Horizon as well as In the night garden and Harry Potter! i promise you there is a vision there somewhere haha.

i’ve also been working on another project for university which is a still image film. my group’s is about social media and inspired by “All of human knowledge made us dumb” which is a song by one of my favourite music artists called SOFIA ISELLA. as i’m writing this (on the 28th) i’ve been taking the pictures for the project over the last week which has been a lot of fun as i don’t really get a lot of chances to do photography these days! i’ve been posting some of the pictures that i took over on my instagram the last few days and a few have made their way onto this website too! any of the individual photos i’m posting will have been edited by me but when i finally release them in film form they’ll be versions edited by others in my group!

university aside, i’ve been up to loads over the last month too! i’ve been doing a lot of song writing which is very exciting and hopefully some of these songs will be with you all sooner rather than later. i’ve also been planning a lot of little projects of my own which i can’t say too much about right now as they’re still very new but you’ll see them in the upcoming months/ year! i’ve also been doing some development of my new murder/ thriller film which was started this month, it’s been quite slow going but i expected it to be and i can’t wait to continue it over these next years in my spare time.

i know people are always curious about what music i’m listening to as i have quite a varied taste in music! over the last month i’ve been listening to a lot of SOFIA ISELLA, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Erin Lecount, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift. but i’ve also found a lot of newer artists over the last month too which is very exciting like Hannah Geller who I found on TikTok and Dea Matrona who i also found on TikTok. I think over march i’ll end up listening to a lot of Chappell Roan again, especially if she releases ‘The Giver’ which it’s suspected she will and SOFIA ISELLA too when she releases her new song in march possibly called “Josephine?” i have no clue though, she could name it anything but from what i’ve heard it’s going to be incredible! today i’ve been listening to ‘Chemistry’ by Gigi Perez which was released today and all i’ll say about that is that i love it!

i’ve also been doing some reading this month too! my current read is “The Reappearance of Rachel Price” by Holly Jackson. Holly is one of my favourite authors and i can’t believe i haven’t had a chance to read this book before now! the paperback only came out the other day so that might be why i waited so long to read it as hardbacks (whilst they look lovely) aren’t the easiest to read.

i think that’s about it from me this month but i’ll be back at the end of march hopefully with a 5 minute film nearly ready to release, a still image film already out and some music either out or on its way! have a lovely day everyone
