hello everyone! on my blog page i’ll be updating you on projects that i’m currently working on as well as sharing little nuggets of my university life learning about (and preparing for) a life in the film industry. as i’m sure you already know, i’m in my first year of film production at the university for the creative arts. i hope to be able to take a year in industry between second and third year if i can find the placements.

currently i’ve completed my first unit of first year where we produced a one minute film. my group produced “Hearing Home”, the directors cut is on my instagram as well as both versions being on my youtube and on this website. i’ve just finished my second unit where we had to write a script for a five minute film and had to pitch them to the university. ten of forty films will be produced in our next unit with bigger crews of around ten to fifteen people each.

i decided to write the screenplay for a popular book called “the housemaid” by freida mcfadden for fun and haven’t even made it past the first chapter yet because freida is such a good writer that it’s hard to condense it down into a screen play.

in second year we have to pick three elements of film to focus on, currently i think i’m going to go with directing, sound and either cinematography or screenwriting. i think i’ll go with these because they allow me to express the most creativity in the ways i know how.
